“Just a bit on my own” said the boy. This is a touching statement by a child growing up in a large family and looking for his peace of mind. Once in a while the child feels like being alone, not being with anyone, testing the limits and doing whatever he dreams of. Little by little the child is fed up with being without boundaries and company, realizes that he wants attention and for someone to notice that he is absent and search for him. He wants to take part in social events and definitely not to be always left alone. The child went from wanting to be alone, through admitting that really only for a bit. The understanding that both situations are possible is crucial for gaining maturity at a later phase in life. Flexibility is an important value that is to be acquired.
